Bishop’s Stortford College Announces 12th Annual ‘Festival of Literature’ Featuring Critically Acclaimed Authors
Tickets are now on sale for The Bishop’s Stortford College Festival of Literature, an event which brings acclaimed authors, illustrators, and poets together to inspire both children and adults to read for pleasure.
Now entering its 12th year, the Festival will take place online for the first time, meaning people from across the UK and worldwide can still enjoy the annual event despite uncertainty surrounding lockdown measures.
Available to watch live, or on catch up, the Festival will run between the 2nd and 12th of February 2021 and has a daytime programme aimed at schools and children aged between 4 - 18 years-old as well as an evening Open Event programme for adults. The event will feature several one-hour talks from many critically acclaimed authors including:
Lemn Sissay: Poet, playwright, artist, performer and broadcaster behind My Name Is Why
Anna McNuff: Named by The Guardian as one of the top female adventurers of our time, Anna’s the best-selling author behind 100 Adventures To Have Before You Grow Up
Kiran Millwood Hargrave: One of the most exciting voices in children’s fiction. Her multi-award winning books for children and young adults include the best-selling The Island at the End of Everything
Onjali Rauf: Children’s author and human rights activist, Onjali’s first novel, The Boy at The Back of The Class, won the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize
Tom Palmer: Having written more than 50 children’s books, Tom has won multiple industry accolades and will be talking about his latest novel, After the War, at the Festival
Emma Yarlett: An award-winning author and illustrator, Emma creates her own distinctive stories and characters for books sold across the world, including Dragon Post and the best-selling Nibbles series
Joseph Coelho: The multi-award-winning children’s author behind the Werewolf Club Rules collection. Joseph has also performed his poetry on Blue Peter and Cbeebies
