There was a sense of nostalgia on campus this weekend as Old Stortfordians from the Class of 2015, joined by a few familiar faces from 2016, returned to the College for their 10-year anniversary reunion. With a mix of former and current staff also in attendance, the day was relaxed, full of catchups and trips down memory lane.

The day began in the Senior School Library with coffee and words of welcome from Nick Reynolds (HH, 08-12), OS President, who only recently celebrated his decade reunion himself.  He encouraged everyone to stay involved with the OS Community and reminded the group that the shared experience of College life still creates strong ties even a decade after leaving.

One of the highlights of the day was the tours. As the Old Stortfordians wandered through the familiar corridors and rooms of the Houses they once spent so much time in, memories started flooding back. The OS pointed out familiar spots, compared how things had changed (or in some cases how much they had not changed!), and shared stories from their time in there which were wonderful to hear.

A delicious lunch was served back in the library, giving everyone a chance to properly sit down and catch up on what they have been up to since leaving the College before the College Head, John Maguire, gave a short address. He shared updates from the past decade including academic achievements, campus developments, and how the College has continued to grow while staying true to its values. He also looked to the future, offering a glimpse of what is to come, innovative new programmes, expanded facilities and plans for the College’s continued growth.

As the event came to a close, no one was in a hurry to leave, plans were made to meet up again soon and there were affectionate farewells all around. A huge thank you to everybody who joined us for this celebration, it was a fantastic day full of laugher and great company.
