Charlie Bannister (Teacher of Chemistry & Master i/c of Hockey) shared news of OS Richard Springham (NH, GH, HH, 92-03) who was awarded a Great Britain Men's Senior "Cap" for Hockey at Lea Valley recently.

The award was made prior to the GB team's success against Germany, winning 3-0! 

Whilst at the College, Richard was part of the College 1st XI which included no less than 4 England U18 players!  They were unbeaten for 42 matches including 3 successive wins against the University of Cambridge Team.  

Richard has represented both Reading University and Reading Hockey Club, where they won 4 national premiership titles.  It was during this time that Richard earned his first international Cap when England play Germany (2007), before going onto win his first Great Britain Cap in 2010.
