In honour of our second Stortfordian Foundation Bursary fundraising gala event, the Memorial Hall & Middle Green were transformed to take our guests back to the roaring 1920s.
A red carpet welcome greeted our guests as they arrived on campus on Saturday 4th March looking thoroughly fabulous in their black tie finery with many sporting tremendous 1920s attire. Welcomed into our Middle Green marquee for a sparkling reception with delicious canapes and flowing prosecco, guests were entertained by a fabulous 1920s jazz band of hugely talented College music staff and pupils with flapper girls performing the Charleston in time to the music.
An adorned Memorial Hall was buzzing as guests took their seats for a delicious four course dinner. The Head captivated the room as she thanked guests for their support and encouraged collaboration with the School to achieve the College’s compelling Stortfordian Foundation Bursary vision of annually raising enough to fully fund a College education for two promising local children.
Encouragement to bid generously on the broad range of unique silent auctions was realised and accompanied by generous support of the live auction which, through the kind donation from Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers of a professional auctioneer, flowed seamlessly after dinner was concluded.
In total, our gala auctions raised almost £11,000 – we are tremendously grateful to the generosity of our guests and those from the Stortfordian Community who joined the silent auction online.
Guests danced the night away in the marquee to a nationally renowned 10 piece soul band bringing our fabulous Gatsby evening of friendship, entertainment and fundraising to a very positive conclusion!
Gracious thanks to all who joined us for the Gala and supported our auctions through the generous donation or purchase of prizes. Bursary funds raised will make an immeasurably positive impact on the future recipient.
