OS pounding the pavements in Marathon Fundraising efforts!
Very proud to share the stories of OS pulling on their running shoes in the coming weeks and tackling the challenge of running a marathon in aid of wonderful charities that mean a huge amount to them.
If you are in a position to help support these valiant fundraising efforts, please click the relevant links for more information.
London Marathon - 21 April
OS Paul Round (WH,SH,98-08) is swapping his hockey astros for his running shoes all in the name of a fabulous cause.
Paul is running the London Marathon on 21st April in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital in recognition of the outstanding care that they have provided to Jack, the inspirational young son of Travis & Becky Hussain (nee Witherden) (PP, NH, BH, 95-07).

Running in memory of her Mother and to commemorate the 10th anniversary of her passing, Christina Radukic (BH,11-16) will be running alongside her Father in the London Marathon on 21 April, raising funds for Marie Curie.
Christina acknowledges the invaluable support her family received from Marie Curie and sees this as a meaningful way to honor the anniversary and give back to others facing similar circumstances.
All donations contribute to Marie Curie Nurses offering essential care to those with terminal illnesses and their families during challenging times. We send our best wishes to Christina and her Father as they continue their training and prepare for the marathon day.

Jack Petts (GH,SuH, 06-13)
On 21st April, Jack will be lacing up for the London Marathon to help raise funds for Kidney Research UK – a beacon of hope for those battling kidney-related diseases.
In 2011, his father's journey with ADPKD led him to a life-changing kidney transplant generously donated by his mother. ADPKD is a genetic condition causing cysts to form in the kidneys, eventually resulting in kidney failure. While treatment is available, there is currently no cure.
Your support will fund vital research, treatments, and support systems, creating a brighter future for families like Jack's.
Lucie Sudworth (WH,YH,09-16)
Last year, just after losing her dad, Lucie lost her best friend David after an accident out at sea and there isn’t a day that goes by where she doesn't miss him endlessly. Having met at university, he became Lucie's friend through their studies but very quickly became her best friend and someone she couldn’t go a day without, very literally.
In the immediate days after the accident, the RNLI put in a relentless search and rescue effort, Lucie is incredibly grateful for the hard work they put in and the work they do in general.
David was the kind of friend you could call and just know he would say yes. A 10k run...? YES! A night out? YES! A study session? YES! They were inseparable at university and every day Lucie misses having him in her life. He always told her she should run a marathon, 'never in a million years' she would say... well now, she has finally given in, just for him.
Though sad he won't be there to cheer her on throughout the whole 42.2km, Lucie really hopes to do him proud.
Edinburgh Marathon -26 May 2024
On the 26th of May Fifi Dunphy (NH,TH, 13-21) will be running the Edinburgh Marathon for Pseudomyxoma Survivor, a charity that couldn’t be closer to her heart. Fifi was a pupil at the College when her mum underwent her gruelling 10 hour operation for Pseudomyxoma Survivor. Having started running for the first time in lockdown, Fifi set herself the goal of fundraising for this outstanding charity that so positively supported her whole family during their most difficult of times and the Edinburgh marathon is the next challenge she has set herself.

Wishing Paul, William and Fifi & all OS facing marathon challenges every success with their gruelling training and his fundraising. Hoping the spring weather and miles of training are kind to them in the ‘run’ up to their big events. Hoping they are able to channel Pearl & Yeo Cup grit and determination on the big day to get them over the line!
