The OS Committee are looking for a qualified Accountant or person with similar skills to be responsible for the OS Committee’s finances and reporting to the OS Committee and members. The current funds are investments of about £80k and £10k cash. The new Treasurer will take over from Charlie Olley (MJH,SUH, 67-76), who is stepping down at the OS AGM in March, after a magnificent 37 years of service!

Purpose

The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the OS Committee’s finances and financial reporting in accordance with the Society’s rules. The President may delegate some leadership responsibility to the Treasurer especially in cases where they or the Immediate Past President or President Elect is unable to attend meetings or events.

Duties include:

Attending all OS Committee meetings virtually or in person.

Attending Sub-Committee meetings where required or requested .

Managing OS funds and investments in accordance with the resolutions of Committee.

Completing financial accounts, reporting and submissions as required.

Takes an active interest in all aspects of the Committee’s various streams of activities.

Providing leadership, insight, and inspiration to the Committee in collaboration with the President and President Elect.
