Did you know that OS Keith Quilter is a member of the Goldfish Club? Qualification for membership is that you must have ditched into the sea in, or from, an aircraft!

At 97, Keith is the one of the club’s oldest members and was recently featured as part a BBC news story online covering the club’s history and members. During airstrikes in WWII, Keith was shot down in 1945 near Osaka, landing in a creek and then paddling ‘like mad’ for the open sea. Thankfully he was saved by an American submarine and lived to tell the tale.

Keith became an official member of the Goldfish Club in 2013 after attending a reunion dinner at Dartmouth Royal Naval College as a guest.
