When I went to work in London in 1978 I discovered that I was living less than a mile & a half from Saracens original home at Chaseside. I became a regular for a few years watching the likes of a young Jason Leonard & an equally young Ben Clarke (OS).
I had played for Bishop's Stortford Rugby Club after leaving school in company with Ben's uncle. Brian Gorman, the first team hooker, whose shirt I coveted, had played for Saracens before coming to Stortford! A small sporting world!
